Olympic Transportation

Olympic National Park is located on the Olympic Peninsula in northern Washington, near the cities of Seattle and Tacoma. Transportation is mainly done by car, though limited public transport is available. Private companies can fill in the gaps. When driving to Olympic be aware of seasonal road closures and check your route beforehand.

Please note that GPS units do not always provide accurate directions to or within Olympic. Yosemite covers over 1,400 square miles. We do not recommend using GPS units for directions in and around Olympic. If you do use a GPS unit, just keep in mind that if there’s a conflict between what the road sign says and what your GPS unit says, the road sign is almost always correct (and your GPS unit isn’t).

Summer Camp Transportation

All of our summer camps will run from Sundays to Fridays.

Late arrivals may be able to be coordinated if set up at least 30-days prior to the trip date. Please contact our office to inquire on specific dates. Late arrivals cannot be coordinated the day of the trip, as cell connection to our guides is very limited/nonexistent.

RIDESHARING: Carpool & Shuttles
See here for the current Rideshare Map for Olympic and limited details of other parties looking for a rideshare. Please note that Lasting Adventures does not participate in coordinating rideshares beyond making voluntarily provided information available to interested and registered parties. After you register for a youth trip you can use the link on the confirmation email to register for the rideshare list, which provides contact information for rideshare participants. Should you find a rideshare for a different date/program, Lasting Adventures does allow changes free of charge, prior to 30-days out, and as long as space is available.

Looking to share a shuttle with others? The rideshare list has an option to indicate interest in a shuttle! Connect with others looking for a rideshare and contact any shuttle option, such as the ones listed above.

SUMMER CAMP ADVENTURE SHUTTLE
Because of the small nature of our program, and the ongoing reductions and restrictions with travel due to COVID-19, we are unable to offer the Adventure Shuttle until further notice. However Rocket Transportation – can be contacted for easy and direct transfers from Seattle to our meeting location at Fairholme Campground.
