Olympic National Park is located on the Olympic Peninsula in northern Washington, near the cities of Seattle and Tacoma. Transportation is mainly done by car, though limited public transport is available. Private companies can fill in the gaps. When driving to Olympic be aware of seasonal road closures and check your route beforehand.
Please note that GPS units do not always provide accurate directions to or within Olympic. Yosemite covers over 1,400 square miles. We do not recommend using GPS units for directions in and around Olympic. If you do use a GPS unit, just keep in mind that if there’s a conflict between what the road sign says and what your GPS unit says, the road sign is almost always correct (and your GPS unit isn’t).

Rental Cars – rental cars provide the easiest and most common way to reach the trailhead meeting locations within Olympic. See here for options: https://www.portseattle.org/sea-tac/ground-transportation/rental-car
Rocket Transportation – One of the few companies around Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula that offers transportation services to SeaTac (Seattle Airport), Port Angeles, and around the greater Olympic Pennisula.
Dungeness Line – The best https://dungeness-line.com/way to Port Angeles from Seattle. Provides two trips daily with direct transport from Seattle (SeaTac) Airport to Port Angeles. Adult tickets are about $42 each way.
Capital Aeroporter provides a shuttle to Olympia and costs $30-$45 per person each way. Go to Capital Aeroporter or call 800-962-3579 to make reservations.
Olympic Hiking Company Trailhead Shuttles– Olympic Hiking Co. is commercially authorized to provide guided hiking tours and trailhead shuttles throughout Olympic National Park. Each year year, our trailhead shuttle service typically serves over 500 backpackers throughout the Olympic Peninsula.
All of our summer camps will run from Sundays to Fridays.
Late arrivals may be able to be coordinated if set up at least 30-days prior to the trip date. Please contact our office to inquire on specific dates. Late arrivals cannot be coordinated the day of the trip, as cell connection to our guides is very limited/nonexistent.

Please note that Lasting Adventures does not participate in coordinating rideshares beyond making voluntarily provided information available to interested and registered parties. After you register for a youth trip you can use the link on the confirmation email to register for the rideshare list, which provides contact information for rideshare participants. Should you find a rideshare for a different date/program, Lasting Adventures does allow changes free of charge, prior to 30-days out, and as long as space is available.
