Lasting Adventures was founded by an Eagle Scout who was forever changed through his scouting experience. Lasting Adventures offers custom outdoor adventure packages at discounted rates for scout groups of eight or more.
National parks provide a dramatic landscape on our guided outdoor adventures for both Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops. Through a 3- to 7-day custom-built adventure, youth will participate in adventure activities, fun games, and the experiential learning cycle within some of America’s most favorite National Parks. Routes vary, and our Yosemite tours usually begin in the Yosemite high country and descend to the Valley floor, covering anywhere from 25-50 miles. This includes side hikes to the summit of a major Yosemite icon such as Half Dome, Clouds Rest, El Capitan, or Mount Hoffman. Olympic routes vary depending on group size and length of trip.
Hiking four to five hours a day, scouts have time to fish alpine lakes, dunk in swimming holes, and play on natural water slides, all while learning basic backpacking skills, wilderness ethics, leadership, and LNT principles. Participants will actively engage in daily activities that are: Significant, Challenging, Supportive, and Fun!
Other: On all custom scout trips, we have a daily circle time in the morning where youth engage in group games, share highlights, offer praise to each other, stretch, review maps and day itineraries, and set individual and group goals for the day. Also, whether breaking on the trail or in the afternoon or evening in the campsite, our guides also facilitate additional opportunities for youth to develop a personal connection with nature. Problem-solving and initiative games are common as are smiles. Additional outdoor skills are gained as we practice Leave no Trace principles and promote environmental stewardship throughout the length of the program.
Available: Year-round. Traditional backpacking is available May through November. Snow camping and snowshoe backpacking is available December through April. Book early for prime summer weeks. Makes for the perfect weekend or extended weekend Scout outing in the Spring and Fall.
Got most of it handled on your own? Contact us also to discuss the option of just hiring one of our Guides to join your group and direct you to some of the best kept secrets in the Yosemite backcountry.
Interested in booking a private trip for your scout group? Please inquire using our Group/Organization Inquiry Form. We review and reply directly to group inquiries within three business days.
Everyone has a right to our beautiful public lands and should have the privilege to experience them. We strive to provide these opportunities to those who might otherwise be unable to participate because of cost. If your group or organization is interested in applying for financial assistance, please fill out the “Scholarship Details” section that is embedded in the Group/Organization Inquiry Form.
We look forward to talking to you more about the possibility of administering an Outdoor Adventure for your Scouting group. If you would like to speak to us personally, please do not hesitate in contacting us at 1-800-513-8651 or by email at [email protected]

“I have been to college, traveled Europe, to the Caribbean, and many other road trips. Nothing compares to those Yosemite trips years ago with Lasting Adventures.” Past youth participant.
“The Lasting Adventures program provides for an invaluable growth opportunity for our students in the natural classroom of Yosemite. The staff at Lasting Adventures is amazing; they understand how to push young people towards challenging goals while providing constant support. They are passionate about Yosemite and all the lessons this great park can teach us about ourselves and the environment. Working with them to design the best program for our students was a pleasure!” – Ingermarie Davis, Seventh Grade Teacher, San Carlos Charter Learning Center
“A unique differentiator about Lasting Adventures, Inc. is their approach of leveraging Adventure Based Programming as a metaphor for connecting youth to nature, themselves, and the world around them.” Gary Erickson & Kit Crawford, Co-Owners, ClifBar & Company.
