Itinerary

Meeting Location: Yosemite Valley Lodge at 4,035′
High Point: Yosemite Point at 7,040′
Elevation Gain: 3,005′

To begin our day, we will meet at the Yosemite Valley Lodge (located across from Yosemite Falls in Yosemite Valley) at 8:00am. After a quick introduction and itinerary briefing, we will begin our hike by heading over to Camp 4 where the Yosemite Falls trailhead begins. Be prepared for a highly strenuous 3.2 mile hike ascending 2440 vertical feet from the valley’s 4000′ elevation to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls at 6440′. We will take our time, taking frequent water breaks and taking time to enjoy the astonishing scenery and the incredible views of Yosemite’s tallest waterfall series along the way, Yosemite Falls falling 2425 vertical feet.

Once atop Yosemite Falls, we will venture out to the lookout at the top of Yosemite Falls. Following this we will ascend another 565 vertical feet hiking a mile to the vantage point of Yosemite Point, 3200 feet above Yosemite Valley, where the hike began. This high point offers stunning perspectives of Glacier Point, Cathedral Rocks, Sentinel Dome, the Clark Range, Half Dome, Cloud’s Rest, Sierra Point and much more. After eating, drinking, relaxing and enjoying the high country views, we will turn around and retrace our steps 4.5 miles back to the valley, descending a knee pounding 3100 vertical feet. Here we will say our goodbyes and end the day, and hopefully see you sooner than later!

Guides carry first aid kits, water purification methods, toilet paper (for emergencies), suntan lotion and bug repellent. Please plan to bring your own lunch, snacks, water bottles, etc. Remember, all profits from our guided trips go towards supporting our youth summer camp program.
