Yosemite Backpacking Trips

If you would like to visit the Yosemite backcountry for an extended adventure that will be sure to create memories to last a lifetime, check out any of our guided Yosemite backpacking trips! Whether it’s only for two days or for seven days, our experienced guides have an extensive knowledge of the Yosemite backcountry. In addition to taking our clients to many of the more famous locations and to the summits of famous peaks, our leaders will also guide participants to lesser known areas and “secrets” that we have found over the years such as off-the-trail high alpine lakes (where fish are plentiful), backcountry waterfalls, alpine meadows, hidden vistas, watering holes, cliff jumping areas, and natural waterslides. On all trips we will teach the principles of Leave No Trace ethics, and as requested other wilderness skills such as map and compass, survival skills, ecology, geology, cooking, just to name a few. Because we want you to leave your worries behind and enjoy this adventure, Lasting Adventures, Inc. will take care of all permits, meals, and whatever equipment needs you may have. We can also accommodate almost every dietary concern. Unless you are requesting a larger group, we try to keep our max group size between six and eight participants to help maximize the wilderness experience. On many occasions our overnight trips average four to six participants.

Feel free to contact us also if you are looking to plan a special get-away. We have extensive experience in facilitating custom Yosemite backpacking trips for family adventures, guys-trips, gals-trips, anniversaries, wedding engagements, and we can even help coordinate a back-country wedding (champagne included).

In addition to the scheduled Yosemite backpacking trips listed below, feel free to contact us regarding different trips or different dates that would best suit your needs. We can plan any trip at any time pending the availability of our guide(s).

2017 Yosemite Backpacking Trips Rates

Our rates are $230 per person per day for days two through the end of the trip. Day one is priced at $100 per person as we meet in the later afternoon in either Yosemite Valley or Tuolumne Meadows and dinner that evening and breakfast the following morning are not included. (Our guides will direct you to the local dining options.) Our pricing includes use of high quality gear (Gregory, Marmot, MSR, LEKI, etc.) at no extra charge. Remember, all profits gained from your participation benefit our non-profit by keeping our youth program costs down and helping us grant more scholarships to less privileged youth. An example of our price structure is as follows:

Trip Length Cost Per Person
4 Days / 3 Nights $790
5 Days / 4 Nights $1020
6 Days / 5 Nights $1250

Group Discount of 15% when scheduling 3 people or more on published trips.
Off-trail trips have additional cost for lower client to guide ratio.
All trips require two participants to operate.
These are tentative dates. Actual itinerary dates are confirmed 24-weeks prior.

2017 SNOWPACK UPDATE: Our snowpack this winter is at 193% of normal. We anticipate a late opening for the Yosemite High Country with snow prevalent into July and beyond at higher elevations. River, creek, and waterfall flow will be at high and sometimes dangerous levels. Mosquitoes will also be extreme at periods this season. Any trips through late June and early July can be impacted and back-up itineraries will be offered when necessary.
